Research

My research focuses on the design of just and sustainable information and software systems. My aim is a critical approach to systems design and engineering research and practice. I am convinced that in order to build lasting positive change through software systems, we need to complement the conversation about how technology shapes our life with a close and critical look at how technology comes to life – how we design it, and how we should design it. And this means that we need to take seriously the role of human values in computing, the politics of systems design, and the social and cognitive processes of judgment and decision making.
